HOLLYWOOD'S HONORARY MAYOR JOHNNY GRANT DIES January 9, 2008 -- Johnny Grant passed away today at the age of 84, apparently of natural causes. He was a very prominent and loved figure in Hollywood and took great pride in helping to improve Hollywood's image. He presided over the induction ceremonies of over 500 Stars into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He always had a cheerful demeaner and a smile on his face. He will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched. Grant, a lifelong bachelor, was found dead in his bed at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where he resided for many years.
